The Whatcom County Library System will celebrate the annual event El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros with two special events and a day of fun on Saturday, April 26, at Lynden Library, 216 4th St.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., bilingual storytime and crafts for all ages will be offered in the library's meeting room.
From 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. visitors can grab snacks before one of the day's big events kicks off at 2 p.m.
Bilingual actress Rose Cano, a storyteller and international performer, will use colorful and high-energy musical storytelling to bring to life fantastical tales of ancient Latin America while touching on lessons that can be learned from nature.
Then, from 2:45 to 4 p.m. desserts will be offered while Ernesto Torres and Charles A. Vogel play music.
Lastly, from 4 to 5 p.m., Bailadores de Bronce, a folklorico dance company from Seattle will perform choreographed dances in beautiful costumes from various regions of Mexico.
Admission is free and open to all.
